New to the gto world. Picked up an 04 5.7 a4 red with the red leather. Got a k n, jab shorties, magnaflow duals. I've got lots of questions for you guys. Idk if it has a tune though. Also have a 71 cutlass I'm trying to rebuild an a trailblazer wannabe ss. Was referred here by ace. First question would be with what I have mentioned above what would be the next best motor mod?

Welcome, you have enough. Dont need you faster than me. Seriously, a lot of guys should chip in on this one. Long tubes would be nice, but you have shorties already. Lot of guys love beefing up the suspension and a nice cam never hurts. Then a tune by Nic and that car would come to life.

Welcome
The "best" mod, although its not for the motor, would be a new stall converter. That'll wake your car up more than you can imagine without spending a lot of money. Jason's Garage, under forum sponsor section, would be the way to go regardless of what mods you plan on doing to the car. Even if you'd rather do the labor yourself, he can get you great prices on parts.

Oh yeah, welcome.
If you get a stall do a good tranny cooler and have the transmission tuned.

71 Olds huh. I sold one a few years back. Had it since I was 18 and loved that damn car. I did several engine rebuilds on it and a frame off restoration. Lots of money went into it and not enough came out.

anyone out there in for some kind of trade for the shorties? And thanks for the welcome's all! Is there a way to tell if it has a tune other than to get it re-tuned or tuned?

Welcome to the Jungle. Ditch the shorties... LT's or manifolds. Personally, I'd say unless you have bread to spread, LT's, intake, stall, maybe gears, and call it good. If you want it faster than that, well... there are more than enough ways to make that happen.

How much do you want for the shorties? I don't want them for my car but if I can get them for a deal I might buy them... As far as mods depends how fast you want it to go... I would do long tube, stall, gears and maybe a little suspension work, new wheels and tires and of course a tune from Nic
welcome to the heard this car will cost you a lot.... you will always want it faster...
